WE WON the Adur League

Captain Colin is pictured picking up the Adur League Shield last night after a thrilling final evening that saw Southwick Park take maximum points from Lancing.
With that win and the 14 points that went with it we leapt over Southwick (who looked certain to win this year with their 8 point lead) to achieve a total of 58 taking the title by just 3 points.
Proof if it were needed that it’s never over until the last rink has finished playing. Congratulations to all who played in or supported us in any of the Adur League matches this season. A great win for the club.
Our prowess on the green was only enhanced by the last match catering laid on by Lynn, Colin and helpers.

Our annual Fours tournament took place on Sunday, 12th August. Despite the adverse weather forecast we were able to play most of the games in the dry.
32 players took part so we were able to have 2 Divisions of 4 teams. The winners of each division played in the final.
The worthy winners were Cathy Kuhler, Roy Whittingham, Jackie Ward and Clive Marchant. Runners up were Chris Edwards, Chris Farrell, Colin Mardell and Denis Miles.
Well done to you all!
The whole day was played in a very friendly atmosphere and it was lovely that everyone stayed to cheer on the finalists.

Triples Day on 24 June 2018

The winners of each Division then played in a well fought final. The eventual winners were Clinton Peck, Chris Farrell and Clive Marchant, the Runners Up being Gill Evans, John Kuhler and John Grice.

Abbeyfield Top Team won by Southwick Park

Today (Sunday 3rd December) we took part in the Abbeyfield Top Team competition at the Adur. David Locke from Southwick organised the event which involved 4 rinks from each of the 3 clubs, Southwick Park, Shoreham and Southwick.
We did battle over 4 rounds from 9:30 until around 5pm for the reward of a cheque for £120 for club funds and more importantly the chance of winning the title and holding the cup until next years tournament.
